Introduction

I suppose that I thought I would have arrived by the time I turned twenty-five. Although, I'm not quite sure what I meant. What does it mean to "arrive"? I'm sure it's different for everyone. Some say when they have that perfect career, perfect mate, perfect house, car, family, etc. Maybe, it's not so much about the arrival as much as it is about the journey.

So, here I am: twenty-five, not married, still working on my thesis, legally an adult, but still feeling like I'm somewhere in between. This isn't exactly what I pictured for myself, but it's where I am. And it's okay. I have faith that things will work out in God's timing. And I'm starting to learn that I need to let go and stop trying to control everything.

It's been a while since I've blogged, but after watching Julie/Julia, I wanted to try again. Besides, it's become apparent that I really need a creative outlet. I'm not going to cook through Julia Child's cookbook, but I am going to post my thoughts on the books I read. I'm something of a bibliophile and it would be nice to have a place to discuss the books that I read--even to some anonymous readers. First up will be The Screwtape Letters by C.S. Lewis, which I finally read through and will read through again because I think it'll be worth the second read to catch things I missed the first time. I'll have that post next Sunday because I've got revival at church all week long, which I am excited about especially after tonight's message.

I guess that's really all there is to say tonight. More to come, I promise!
